Uche Sparks Dominant Crystal Palace Win at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Even though entering their first-ever European campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal straight entry to the knockout stages, particularly following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

This occasion offered a chance for several Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
