Trump Calls Loved Ones of Injured Military Soldiers to the White House

President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Background on the Heartbreaking Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Vigils across the state have occurred in their remembrance.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president told the press. “And similarly with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Reaction

Mourners gathered over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of the president’s government program to aid policing efforts in Washington DC.

Honoring the Soldier

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers desired. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a positive energy that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s alma mater, informed the Associated Press. “She was kind, caring and always ready to support those in need.”

Service arrangements for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Measures and Government Revisions

Officials have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The tragedy led the government to pause asylum processing and cease granting entry permits to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi stated on Fox News Sunday that she aimed to visit the family.

Impact of Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a MP with honor, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had courage,” he told the gathering at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
