19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks his first title since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since spring of that year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.
His retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to question if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete assertively, backed up by an improved serve.
He came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional title, seized the initiative to create a decider.
Moutet defended 4 initial opportunities in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he clinched the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
